Apollo AirMap Global Terrain Radar |
First worldwide color Terrain Radar for Microsoft Flugsimulator FSX/FS2004. With
the worldwide terrain radar GTR of APOLLO there exists for the first time a worldwide
color terrain radar display for the flight simulator FSX / FS2004 which integrates
directly in the Garmin GPS. Similarly to a Warm picture-red or Infrared camera the
the terrain is displayed in different color steps, depending on terrain height and
airplane
position. AirMap worldwide terrain radar GTR begins where a normal GPS fails: with
the representation of dangerous terrain. It functions stand-alone or as an Overlay
combined Worldwide Global Xplorer and all APOLLO AirMap VFR charts directly in the
standard Garmin GPS G500 / G1000 and needs, therefore, no additional place in the
cockpit. Equipped with a terrain radar display, even bad weather flights can certainly
are carried out below a low lying cloud cover or to landing fields in the mountains
(e.g., to nightmares, Rocky Mountains, Alaska etc.).AirMap Worldwide terrain radar
GTR indicates, in addition, sequentially the exact radar height above ground. Now
all FSX airplanes profit from it, also those disposed originally of no radar altimeter.
Equipped with such a device, even some so-called CFIT crash (Controlled Flight into
terrain) could have been avoided, which has cost the life some professional pilots.

APOLLO AirMap Terrain is an addon for APOLLO AirMap. APOLLO AirMap Terrain
is a altitude radar which overlays the distance to the ground as a colored representation
on the AirMap charts.
Terrain Radar requires any
other APOLLO AirMap chart product, like GlobalXplorer or AirMap UK & Ireland
VFR etc.
but does not work with AirMapX!
Apollo AirMap Terrain consist of 3 different products:
- Apollo AirMap Terrain Europe ( 1 Install package, Europa 216 MB total size)
- Apollo AirMap Terrain America ( 2 Install packages for North- and Southamerica 672
MB total size)
- Apollo AirMap Terrain World ( 5 Install packages , Europe North-, Southamerica,
Africa, Asia/Oceania, 2,1 GB total size)
