Global-Xplorer is a brand new Moving Map instrument for Microsoft Flight Simulator FSX/FS2004, developed by APOLLO Software, covering for the very first time the whole globe. Instead of requiring external programs like GoogleEarth, APOLLO Software's Global-Xplorer is seamlessly integrated into the default Garmin GPS instrument, and unlike other products does not require additional space in an already crowded cockpit.

This approach allows for the first time comfortable switching between all GPS display modes and Global-Xplorer chart modes. Global-Xplorer runs in windowed and full screen mode and can display two different chart modes: Aerial and Road mode.

Road mode is so detailed it can even replace airport ground and taxiway charts at many airports while aerial mode offers unprecedented levels of orientation. It offers real time, out-of-cockpit down-to-earth views displaying the world from a virtual birds eye view; anywhere, anytime: No matter where you fly, above the Himalayas, the Sahara desert or in the Caribbean. No charts or maps need to be downloaded, which would otherwise require Terabytes of hard disk space.

APOLLO Global-Xplorer can be used stand-alone or in combination with any other digital aviation charts, VFR-sectionals-, ICAO-, Jeppesen- or topographic maps offered by APOLLO Software. This makes it possible for the first time to switch in-flight, between aviation chart mode, GPS-, aerial- or road display mode, an exciting feature never seen before on any other instrument for Microsoft Flight Simulator.
